Video: How to Configure a Distributed File System Namespace to Unify Shared Folders into One Network Path

  • ·Skill level: 300 (Intermediate)
  • ·Run Time: 18:45
  • ·Instructor: Grant Moyle

Description:

In our previous videos we've shared out files and folders to the network to make them available to the users, but we haven't done anything with the actual File Services role on the server. In this video we will create a DFS namespace that will allow us to unify shared folders into a single network path.

Highlights from this video:
  • What triggers the installation of the File Services role?
  • About the Distributed File System (DFS) role service
  • Creating and working with a DFS Namespace
  • DFS Management and shared folders
and much more
